A 6" 120V IC rated New Work Sloped Air-Tight recessed housing. Constructed from the highest quality steel available for recessed housings, commercial grade A welded steel. Designed for houses with ceilings that are at an angle/vaulted. An oversized J-Box allows for a maximum of (8) #12 AWG wires (4 in and 4 out), and it has multiple knockout entries of 1/2" & 3/4" sizes. An IC rating means that this housing is safe to make contact with insulation. If you do not have insulation in your home, we suggest a Non-IC rated housing, which can be found here. As a New Work housing, this can is meant to be used in homes where you have access to a ceiling joist. If you do not have access to the ceiling joist, you will need a remodel can, which can be found here. UL listed for damp locations, air-tightness, and its feed through wire system.

It does this by preventing heated and conditioned air from escaping through gaps like it normally would in non air-tight fixtures. The quality and safety of this recessed housing is backed up by a UL listing for damp location. It is also UL Listed for air-tightness, and for its feed through wiring system. 
Safety and Features:
With safety in mind, this 6" 120V new work recessed housing comes with a few different features to make this fixture as safe as possible. These include: a built in thermal protector will turn off the light, in case of improper bulb installation, and a built in reflective aluminum heat shield dissipates heat away from medium base socket. An oversized J-Box allows for a maximum of (8) #12 AWG wires (4 in and 4 out). It also comes with multiple knockout entries of 1/2" & 3/4" sizes. Bulbs
