A 4" 120V 18w Fluorescent New Work IC rated recessed housing. Constructed from high quality aluminum for longevity and maximum heat dissipation. An IC rating means that this housing can make direct contact with insulation and as such is commonly used in homes with insulation. If you do not have insulation we recommend a Non-IC rated housing, such as this one.(NOTE: Housing in link is both a REMODEL and a 13w unit) Being a New Work housing, this is meant to be installed in homes where access to the ceiling joist is an option. If it is not an option we recommend a Remodel housing, such as the one in the link above. An oversized J-Box allows for a maximum of (8) #12 AWG wires (4 in and 4 out), and there are multiple knockout entries of 1/2" & 3/4" sizes. ETL Listed for damp locations, air-tightness, and its feed through wiring system.

Such features include: an oversized J-Box allows for a maximum of (8) #12 AWG wires (4 in and 4 out), and multiple knockout entries of 1/2" & 3/4" sizes. It also includes a built in reflective aluminum heat shield dissipates heat away socket, and a built in thermal protector will turn off the can light, incase of improper bulb installation.
