The head (canopy) simply screws onto the top of the stem for easy installation and cuts down on maintainance time when it's time to change bulbs. Also, since the stem is compatible with all the mini PASH style landscape lights, if you decide to change styles, you don't have to install a brand new fixture; simply change the head of the landscape light and you can achieve a brand new look. Furthermore, our exclusive stem system comes in multiple heights, 10" , 13" or 17.5".
